Crisis Committee - Suez Crisis

President:

Ashley Yuan

Hi everyone! My name is Ashley Yuan, and this will be my fourth time attending the SHAMUN conference. This will be my second time chairing the Security Council, but my first time leading a crisis committee. I hope that delegates will be able to adapt to the crises by collaborating to find solutions for the series of events surrounding the Suez Crisis.

Deputy President:

William Xie

Hello delegates!

My name is William Xie and it is an absolute honor to welcome you all to SHAMUN this year. I'm a junior at Shanghai American School and I will be serving as a student officer on the crisis team for the Historical Security Council. I'm incredibly excited about this year's topic of debate, since it is the first time in a while the Varsity team has decided to incorporate crises in to committees. If you have any questions about the issue or chair report, please contact me atwilliam03px2018@sasstudent.org or our team's email at sasmunpx@gmail.com. See you soon!

Hi everyone!

My name is Sean Chen, and I’m keenly a senior at Shanghai American School Puxi. Having been on the MUN team since the start of high school, I have attended over ten conferences and am fairly excited to add SHAMUN XVIII to my records. As a crisis manager in the historical security council, I will do my best to create realistic, useful, and sometimes hilarious scenarios. All in all, I hope for a productive conference and to see you all there!

Sincerely,
Sean Chen

Deputy President:

Nilay Ghatila

Hey y’all!

Welcome to SHAMUN. My name is Nilay and I’ve been in MUN for 3 years now. I’ve been the THIMUN Hague, THIMUN Singapore,  and NAIMUN Georgetown. MUN has been a huge passion of mine and since the Historic Committee is new to SHAMUN I really look forward to working on the crisis panel and making the debate dynamic and interesting. Can’t wait to see and meet all of you. Research well and get ready for a great conference!
